She was born on November 18, 1984, in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Nayanthara is known for her work in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema and has established herself as one of the leading actresses in the industry.

Nayanthara completed her schooling in various parts of India as her father was an Indian Air Force officer. Nayanthara began her career as a model for a few hours in her college days. In 2003, director Sathyan Anthikkad stumbled across models assignments for her and suggested she take on an appearance on his movie. At first, she was hesitant because she was not looking to become an actress, but then she said yes and began her acting career with the Malayalam film Manassinakkare. She believed that she would make a film of just one but the fate of her life brought her fame and the movie quickly became a massive success after when she got roles a variety of films.

The year 2004 was the first time she was a part in two films. The first film was Natturajavu which was a film written and written by Shaji Kailas. Her next project the same year was Vismayathumbathu where she acted alongside Mohanlal. It was a thriller with a psychological theme, directed by Fazil and produced by Ammu International. The year 2005 was the time she released her Tamil debut in Ayya which was directed produced by the director Hari. The film became a success and Nayanthara got rave reviews for her performance that earned her notoriety in Tamil film. In the course of filming in the film Ayya, Nayanthara was signed for a comedy horror film directed by P. • Nayanthara was first a target of controversy after photos of her kissing the first man she had with Simbu became viral on the internet and on social media. The negative publicity had a detrimental effect to her reputation as a public figure.

• Nayanthara was a target of controversy because of her affair in a relationship with Prabhu Deva. The name of Prabhu Deva was also tattooed on her wrist while she had a romantic relationship Prabhu Deva.
• On the 7th of August, 2011, she embraced Hinduism through the Shuddhi Karma Ritual at the Arya Samaj temple in Chennai. The ceremony was intended to perform Vedic purification, after which the Havan was carried out as directed by priests. Nayanthara was awarded a certificate of her change into Hinduism as well as her own name., Nayanthara was officially adopted as her name. This was done prior to her release from Sri Rama Rajyam. But, the media claimed that she did it in order to get married Prabhu Deva, who was believed as her lover at the time.
