Career
She graduated from Delhi University. Shortly thereafter, in 1980 she moved to Mumbai and launched a modeling career that garnered great praise from admirers and media alike. By 1982 she made her acting debut in “Nikaah”, playing a salesperson role.
Archana Singh first made her mark with her performance in 1987’s “Jalwaa”, where she appeared alongside legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah. Soon thereafter, Archana went on to play various supporting roles, earning much acclaim and fame. One such film was “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, in which Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Kajol Farida Jalal and Anupam Kher all had important parts.
Since 2000s, Archana Singh has made an impressionful presence as a comedienne, appearing in movies such as Bol Bachchan, De Dana Dan and Dolly Ki Doli among many others. Her comedic talents make for compelling viewing experiences!
Her silver screen career began with “Karamchand,” on TV from 1985, which led her into acting roles and shows like Nehle Pe Dehla alongside husband Parmeet Sethi and “Nehle Pe Dehla”, both featuring in 1995 and 1996 respectively. Additionally, she took part in various reality shows as contestant – “Nach Baliye,” followed by hosting dance reality show Jhalak Dikhlaja with Gurmeet Singh from 2005. Additionally she graced audiences from 2008-14 through various appearances like Kapil Sharma Show Comedy Circus shows as Judge which she truly entertained audiences from 2008.
