Karishma Kapoor developed an early passion for acting after being inspired by Sridevi (late actress). Following graduation, she pursued acting professionally after initially opposing it due to family tradition; but, Karishma was so enthusiastic about her dream that she decided to go through with it anyways. Her father wasn’t supportive at first – however Karishma fought on and finally achieved her ambition of working in cinema!
In 1991, she launched her professional career with her debut movie “Prem Qaidi”, receiving rave reviews from critics. Following that film’s success she appeared in various commercials like “Sapne Sajan Ke” starring Rahul Roy, Jackie Shroff, Dimple Kapadia and Dimple Kapadia; “Jaagruti”, Deedar”and Police Officer”, among many others; later making several hit Indian movies such as “Jigar” featuring Ajay Devgan alongside Anari alongside Raja Babu; “Coolie No1”, “Jeet” starring Salman Khan, Sunny Deol and Tabu; Sajan Chale Sasural” collaborated alongside both actors respectively, making other projects standout among many more projects as well.
