Career
Malaikastudiedd at Holy Cross High School of Thane until 9th grade before going on to Swami Vivekanand School of Chembur for her secondary education. Following this, she took admission at Jai Hind College Churchgate but could not complete her graduation due to work commitments. When MTV started operating in India, Malaika was one of a select few VJs selected and first hosted Club MTV as its first host host; additionally she appeared in numerous commercial ads featuring various brands; one song in particular featured her opposite Jas Arora!
In 1998, she rose to stardom thanks to the hit item number ChaiyyaChaiyya from Dil Se. This performance earned her great admiration from viewers.
Malaika made her film debut with EMI, which became a commercial failure at the box-office. Later she produced and did item number “MunniBadnaamHui,” under her former husband’s production house Dabangg and produced another under Dabangg with Malaika also doing item numbers in Dabangg as producer and Dabangg with producer and then-husband Salim Khan’s production house Dabangg; Malaika judged on NachBaliye 1, NachBaliye 2, Zara NachkeDikha and JhalakDikhhlaJaa as well as India Next Top Model competitions;
